The Health Assessment Advisory Service at Workington Assessment Centre is a ground floor assessment facility. It has three assessment rooms.

The name ‘Robinsons Accountants’ is in big letters on the wall above the Assessment Centre.

To gain access to the Assessment Centre there is a buzzer located on the wall to the left of the door. Press the buzzer and a member of staff will speak to you and release the door.

The closest parking can be found in the multi-storey car park on Central Way (CA14 3BG).

  • PIP Assessment for people claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Universal Credit (UC)
  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Other benefit assessments for people claiming a range of benefits such as Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB), Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children or Veterans UK

Directions

Train

Workington train station is approximately 0.7 miles from the Assessment Centre.

Upon leaving the station, walk up Station Road until it becomes Oxford Street. Continue to walk until you come to John Street. At the top of John Street, turn right onto Central Square. Pass the Church. The Assessment Centre is directly ahead on Central Way, next to the bridge and below Robinsons Accountants.

Car

From north/south:

Follow the A596 into Workington and turn onto Jane Street, then onto the B5297 (Oxford Street). From this road, turn left at the top of John Street. Pass the Church. The Assessment Centre is directly ahead on Central Way, next to the bridge and below Robinsons Accountants.

From west:

Follow the A66 into Workington until the end of the road, then turn left onto Washington Street. Turn right onto Jane Street and then Oxford Street. Turn left at the top of John Street onto Central Square. Pass the Church. The Assessment Centre is directly ahead on Central Way, next to the bridge and below Robinsons Accountants.

Bus

The nearest bus stop is Grace Baptist Church, 0.1 miles away.

Upon leaving the bus, walk towards Gray Street then turn left onto Central Way. The Assessment Centre is next to the bridge and below Robinsons Accountants.
