The Health Assessment Advisory Service at Stockport (Deanery Way) Assessment Centre is a ground floor assessment facility. It has five assessment rooms.

Parking is available nearby in the Merseyway Shopping Centre (SK1 1HG), accessible from Great Underbank. Disabled parking is also available along Great Underbank (SK11NE). Local restrictions do not allow drop-off or pick-up between 10:00 and 16:00. You can be dropped off at on Great Underbank, which is around the corner from the Assessment Centre.

  • PIP Assessment for people claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Universal Credit (UC)
  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Other benefit assessments for people claiming a range of benefits such as Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB), Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children or Veterans UK

Directions

Train

Stockport train station is approximately 0.5 miles from the Assessment Centre.

If walking, continue along Station Road for about 300 yards before turning left onto Wellington Road South. Turn right into Mersey Square and continue through Chestergate/Great Underbank, before turning left onto Deanery Way.

Car

From M56:
Follow signs to Stockport city centre and turn onto Travis Brow/A5145. Follow Travis Brow and Great Egerton Street to Little Egerton Street, then turn onto Great Underbank for the Assessment Centre.

Bus

The Assessment Centre is 0.3 miles from the main bus station off Wellington Road South. From the bus station, walk directly along Chestergate/Great Underbank before turning left onto Deanery Way.
