Notes from this Centre

The Health Assessment Advisory Service at Grimsby Assessment Centre is a ground floor assessment facility. It has four assessment rooms.

Parking is available outside the Assessment Centre for up to 30 minutes. Disabled parking (with no time limit) is available at the front of the building. Alternatively, pay and display parking is available on Orwell Street (DN31 3HB), approximately 500 feet away.

  • PIP Assessment for people claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Universal Credit (UC)
  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Other benefit assessments for people claiming a range of benefits such as Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB), Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children or Veterans UK

Directions

Train

From Grimsby Town:
Grimsby Town train station is located approximately 1.5 miles from the Assessment Centre.
We recommend taking a bus from the station, or taking a taxi from the taxi rank opposite the station. Please contact us before you travel so that we can reimburse your taxi fare.
From Grimsby Docks:
Grimsby Docks station is located less than 500 feet from the Assessment Centre.
Upon leaving the station, walk up train Street and turn left onto train Place. Turn right onto Cleethorpe Road. The Assessment Centre is on your right.

Car

From west/Scunthorpe:
Approach Grimsby via the A180. Continue on the A180 through a series of roundabouts until you see the Dock Tower on your left. Proceed onto the flyover. After crossing the flyover, take the slip road left immediately before the traffic lights. Take an immediate left again, which will take you under the flyover onto train Street. Turn immediate left again onto Cleethorpe Road. The Assessment Centre is on the right in the same building as the Quayside NHS Walk-In Centre.
From south:
Follow the A16 into Grimsby and onto Victoria Street until you reach the A180 roundabout, then turn right. Continue on the A180 through a series of roundabouts until you see the Dock Tower on your left. Proceed onto the flyover. After crossing the flyover, take the slip road left immediately before the traffic lights. Take an immediate left again, which will take you under the flyover onto train Street. Turn immediate left again onto Cleethorpe Road. The Assessment Centre is on the right in the same building as the Quayside NHS Walk-In Centre.

Bus

The closest bus stop to the Assessment Centre is Church Street, approximately 0.2 miles away.
Upon leaving the bus, walk up Freeman Street towards Church Street, then turn left onto Cleethorpe Road. The Assessment Centre will be on your left.
