Notes from this Centre
The Health Assessment Advisory Service at Dumfries Assessment Centre is a first floor assessment facility. It has two assessment rooms.
There are 20 steps to the ground floor. If you think that you would have difficulty going down the stairs unaided in the event of an emergency, please call us at least two days before your appointment.
There is paid parking available at the Loreburne Shopping Centre (DG1 2BD, entrance on Irish Street) and free short stay parking available by the river on Whitesands (DG1 2RS).

- Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Universal Credit (UC)
- Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Other benefit assessments for people claiming a range of benefits such as Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB), Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children or Veterans UK

Directions
Train
Exit the train station and turn right into St Mary’s Street. Walk down St Mary’s Street and then turn right into English Street. Continue down English Street to High Street. Continue along High Street and turn left into Bank Street. Turn left onto Irish Street. The Assessment Centre is on the first floor of the Jobcentre Plus.
Car
From M74 North/South:
Exit at Beattock/Moffat junction and follow the A701 into Dumfries. The A701 runs onto Buccleuch Street. Turn left into Irish Street. The Assessment Centre is situated on the first floor of the Jobcentre Plus.
Bus
The nearest bus stop to the Assessment Centre is Loreburne Centre, approximately 0.1 miles away.
Upon leaving the bus, walk up towards St Michael Street, then turn onto Irish Street. The Assessment Centre is on the left.
