The Health Assessment Advisory Service at Castleford Assessment Centre is a ground floor assessment facility with five assessment rooms.

Free parking is available on the road at the front of the building for two hours.

  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Universal Credit (UC)
  • Work Capability Assessment for people claiming Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Other benefit assessments for people claiming a range of benefits such as Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB), Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children or Veterans UK

Directions

Train

Castleford train station is approximately 0.4 miles from the Assessment Centre. Upon leaving the station, walk towards Station Road then turn right onto Carlton Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street and go through the roundabout. Take a right onto Bridge Street again. The Assessment Centre is on your right.

 

Car

From Leeds (Garforth):

Head east on Selby Road (A63). At the roundabout, take the third exit (heading south) onto Ridge Road (A656) until reaching Bridge House.

From Leeds (Rothwell):

Head east on Methley Lane (A639), turn left onto Savile Road (A6032). At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Wheldon Road and then left onto Bridge Street.

From Wakefield:

Take Ings Road (A638) then turn onto Black Road (A655). Go through two roundabouts, then onto the A6539. Take the first exit onto Front Street (A656). Continue until the junction with Wheldon Road for the Centre.

Bus

The closest bus stop is Aire Street, approximately 0.1 miles away. Upon leaving the bus, walk down Aire Street towards Sagar Street. Keep on Aire Street, then turn onto Bridge Street. The Assessment Centre is on your right.
